I'm Setting Booty Traps.
In the desert outside of Sedona, Arizona a large, metallic structure appeared after an evening of strange lights swooping and whirling around in the skies. A couple locals went into the one story structure to check it out. Their truck was still sitting outside of the strange building a day later. The police were called in. The local sheriff didn't trust the federal government, but he knew superheroes could probably handle whatever this thing was.
He put in a call to the Future Foundation. Then he sat back and waited. Also, he kept an eye on making sure no one else did something dumb like go into that thing like Larry and Daryl.

When they were past the cordon, he turned to the team. "Ryan, get into the air, see if there's anything the locals missed. Circle out about a mile and come back. I'll check around the immediate premises. The rest of you work your way inside, and be careful. Two people have already disappeared inside it."
He glanced toward Jacob, mostly to make sure the big guy kept an eye on the hot redhead scientist with them.

She checked the device she was carrying. "The detector isn't going ding, so I don't think there's stuff. Or at least, not stuff it was designed to scan for."

"This shouldn't be too difficult."

He headed inside, making sure to keep Alexa in his sights.

Remi's scouting brought up nothing more dangerous in the immediate area than a disturbed rattlesnake.
For those that went inside, they found a large cavernous one story structure. The interior was all smooth metal. The large space was bisected by a large wall with an opening in the center.
The readings on the metal confirmed that it was not terrestrial in origin and not of any known alien metals the Future Foundation had come across. Though now that Imaginauts were inside, the scanners could not detect anything outside the building.
There was something of terrestrial origin on the far side of the building, beyond the opening in the wall.

The readings on Griffin's gauntlets could only find very weak and intermittent energy to tap into. Most of the energy he could find that might have been usable was on the other side of the glass panes holding the gas in the walls and acidic goo on the ceiling. There was some energy under their feet, but there were readings down there of the same concentrated acid that was above their heads above the energy.
A voice coming from speakers set into the floor at the far wall started up. "Welcome, welcome trapped Future Foundationites. Hopefully, you'll be more entertaining than the brothers dumb who are nothing but residue over on the floor here."

"You will keep calm," he ordered. "If you panic or do not think your actions all the way through and Alexa or the baby she's carrying gets hurt, you will regret it."
There was an idea to take Ryan down to the crushing depths and watch him implode. It took Remi a second to remember to add on: "Or your brother. Or the other two. Because they're the ones in danger. We have an exit."
He nodded toward the still wide open doorway.

"We can hear them. Maybe they can help us with using those machines to get them out of there." Once the Atlantean had someone's attention, he gestured to the metallic consoles behind him to see if anybody had an idea what to do with them.

When the ground rumbled under his tired feet, he tried to yank his arm out of Jacob's grasp. He glanced back at the building of death they had just gotten out of.
"Mone defoncer," he muttered to himself. "Everyone get behind the police cordon! Ryan, be ready to back up my shields!"
The Atlantean kept moving toward the cordon. He didn't know how much more he could stretch his shield strength, but he was going to try to keep this contained. From a safer distance.

He shot a worried look to his
teammatesfriends and brother."That could've been us," he said softly.
Damn, that was close.

She spun and faced Griffin. "And if I ever hear you pull that "I'm going last" thing again..."

He frowned a little, watching the building shake. His fists clenched and he looked down at his enormous, rocky fingers. No good for this sort of thing... when finicky little buttons and circuits needed to be manipulated. Even if he'd known what to do, he couldn't have pulled it off.

"Ryan, mine are failing," Remi shouted over his shoulder with a small edge of panic creeping in. "Jacob, cover-"
The shield breached right in front of Remi. He was sent flying over the cordon.

"Someone catch him!"
