In the desert outside of Sedona, Arizona a large, metallic structure appeared after an evening of strange lights swooping and whirling around in the skies. A couple locals went into the one story structure to check it out. Their truck was still sitting outside of the strange building a day later. The police were called in. The local sheriff didn't trust the federal government, but he knew superheroes could probably handle whatever this thing was.

He put in a call to the Future Foundation. Then he sat back and waited. Also, he kept an eye on making sure no one else did something dumb like go into that thing like Larry and Daryl.

"On it!" Ryan replied, doing exactly as he was told. He worked quickly, sparkling energy pouring forth from his fingertips. It wasn't difficult, holding the door and getting to the other side of it.

The more difficult part would be keeping it open until the others could get out.

"Alexa. Give me the device, I'll go last," Griffin orders her sounding tense.

"You and the baby need to get away from this." He is pretty adamant on this right now.

Jacob hurried over to the wall when it began to rise. He held his breath and reached down to slide his fingers under the bottom edge and help Remi pull the wall up. He had to trust that Mary, Alexa, and Griffin would be close by to get out as fast as they could.

Mary really didn't like the idea of Griff being last out. But he had a point. Getting Alexa and the baby out took priority over anything else.

She nodded, and altered her shape again, retaining the same basic form, but pressed nearly so flat as to be too dimensional. From there, it was easy to stretch and slide through the small space.

The wall started to rise faster with the added strength of an Atlantean behind it. Though the lifting did have a price. The glass shattered along that wall.

The swirling, orange gas did not get to escape however as it met with Remi's invisible shield containing it.

The door to the outside started pressing hard against Ryan's shields to trap to trap most of the Imaginauts inside.

Remi grunted as he pulled up harder to get the point where he could start pushing up. He tried not to step on the green and white plane of teammate near his feet.

"Mary. Out," he grunted as he lifted the wall higher. "Ryan's. Holding. The. Door."

He decided the next time he decided some lift and shielding was needed, he was going to have the Grimm brothers do it. He could ignore the bickering.

Ryan struggled against the door, his forehead breaking out into sweat. "Guys," he said, straining, "hurry!"

Alexa started to argue with Griffin but quickly realized that this was just not the time.

"You'd better hurry or I will come back in here and kick your ass before dragging you out," she said and pseudo-army crawled her way to the door, wiggling her way out when room was available.

"Of course," Griffin agrees seriously. He just has to be sure they will all get out safely.

He is making sure everything is going exactly as they need it to and then he crawls towards the door still planning on getting out last. He just needs to be closer in vase things go wrong.

Mary pulled the rest of herself through, assuming her normal form. "C'mon... c'mon..."

The door was high enough now that Jacob could have ducked under and gotten out, but he didn't let go yet. He looked over to Griffin and gestured to the door. "Move it, let's go."

If he had to let go of the door to grab Griffin, he was going to be really unhappy.

"Mary. Out," Remi grated as the strain of holding the door got harder. Even with Jacob's help. Remi wedged himself under it more to be able to hold it when Jacob squeezed under.

"Ryan's. Struggling. To hold. The exit. Get out!" He really wanted to reach down and pull Alexa through, but he needed to stay in place so he can hold the gas in place.

Alexa scrambled up and bolted for the exit. She would have argued that she had to help the others escape, but Remi was right. Ryan was struggling. They had to get out. NOW.

Once he is sure Alexa is safe? Griffin moves like his ass is on fire. For a nerdy science guy he can move pretty freaking fast.

As soon as everyone else was out, Jacob ducked under the door and nodded to Remi before he let it go. Then he grabbed the boss man's arm and tugged toward the front door Ryan was holding open. "Last one out gets to explain it to the hormonal redhead."

"Not it," Ryan said, nodding instead at Remi. "I was technically the first one out."
