One mini Icecube with a side order of oops. [open]

Bobbi scowled as she knelt helping one of her friends pick up their books.  “Alex you have to be such a jerk?”  She handed the books over to the girl he had tripped, who was pushing her glasses up so she could see.

“Bobbi, don’t, you’ll get into trouble if you’re in another fight.  It’s alright I’m used to it by now.”  She did accept her books though.

“Aw what’s wrong Bobbi, gonna let the geek tell you what to do?”

“Considering she’s been helping me get used to the school, yeah I’ll let her.”  She glared at the older student putting an arm around her friend.  “Come on, let’s go.  We’ll be late for class if we stay here, I can’t afford another tardy.”  Their way towards the English room was blocked by his friends.  Bobbi glanced around, the other students were forming a ring around them, the chant of fight already starting.  The fourteen year old gave a small frown.  “Anna stay behind me okay?”  She was used to getting bumps and bruises from the soccer field at least.  If he was really going to take a swing she preferred it to be her that got hit and not Anna.

Al’s fist hit the locker by her head making her flinch slightly as he grinned.  “All that bravado and you’re still shaking aren’t you?”  He laughed stepping back.

Bobbi closed her eyes growling a moment, the air around her started to cool down as she pushed him away from her.  He yelped, her small hands actually cold enough to burn him even through his shirt.  “I’m not scared of you.”  Her words were as cold as her hands, making his buddies back up as if scared of the pint sized teen.  She stormed past him, the air still cooling.  There was the sound of something above the gathered students cracking.  Looking up all the sprinklers had icicles forming. The young blond bolted as soon as she was away from everyone, feeling like she needed space.

Once outside in the California sun she bolted across the yard planning on making it home before anything else happened.  She wasn't sure what was going on, but had a feeling the cracking noises she had heard were because of her.

Yeah, Doug was getting really eager to get this girl out of this situation. He was going to be doing some cracking into government databases to see what he could find out about her and her "parents" as soon as he got the chance. Because some of this felt very, very wrong.

He kept his voice at a whisper. "They will," he told her. "We have some of the best people who know all about this kind of thing at the school, and other resources we can call on besides."

"We're not too far away. We'll be more than willing to meet your father. We'll get you to Xavier's. No problem." She sat back in a more relaxed posture. The redhead glanced toward where the mother had disappeared.

"You'll have all the help you need."

Doug kept his expression carefully controlled. "That... sounds like a plan," he said.

"We'll be waiting for your call." Rachel smiled reassuringly. She could pick up on the tense suspicion from her and Doug being picked up by Bobbi. As dangerous as the situation might turn out to be, they did not need her taking anything outside of a phone call into her own hands.

She placed a hand on her husband's arm. "And don't worry. You won't need to leave Xavier's. If you freeze something, we have people around to thaw things out."

"No one," Doug agreed. "Not for long, anyway. We're all used to stuff like that."

He paused, when her "mother" cut in. This... could be difficult.
