One mini Icecube with a side order of oops. [open]
Bobbi scowled as she knelt helping one of her friends pick up their books. “Alex you have to be such a jerk?” She handed the books over to the girl he had tripped, who was pushing her glasses up so she could see.
“Bobbi, don’t, you’ll get into trouble if you’re in another fight. It’s alright I’m used to it by now.” She did accept her books though.
“Aw what’s wrong Bobbi, gonna let the geek tell you what to do?”
“Considering she’s been helping me get used to the school, yeah I’ll let her.” She glared at the older student putting an arm around her friend. “Come on, let’s go. We’ll be late for class if we stay here, I can’t afford another tardy.” Their way towards the English room was blocked by his friends. Bobbi glanced around, the other students were forming a ring around them, the chant of fight already starting. The fourteen year old gave a small frown. “Anna stay behind me okay?” She was used to getting bumps and bruises from the soccer field at least. If he was really going to take a swing she preferred it to be her that got hit and not Anna.
Al’s fist hit the locker by her head making her flinch slightly as he grinned. “All that bravado and you’re still shaking aren’t you?” He laughed stepping back.
Bobbi closed her eyes growling a moment, the air around her started to cool down as she pushed him away from her. He yelped, her small hands actually cold enough to burn him even through his shirt. “I’m not scared of you.” Her words were as cold as her hands, making his buddies back up as if scared of the pint sized teen. She stormed past him, the air still cooling. There was the sound of something above the gathered students cracking. Looking up all the sprinklers had icicles forming. The young blond bolted as soon as she was away from everyone, feeling like she needed space.
Once outside in the California sun she bolted across the yard planning on making it home before anything else happened. She wasn't sure what was going on, but had a feeling the cracking noises she had heard were because of her.

"Dad really it'll be okay. You know I'll be careful." She looked at the pair. "Sorry he's over protective even though I'm a big kid."
no subject
"Understandable," he said instead, shaking the man's hand as well. "But I can assure you, Westchester County is very safe."
no subject
"We're well prepared for students of Bobbi's caliber. Quality education will get her far."
no subject
"We know of the school. It's just, hard to let her go. I'm sure you understand."

He tensed, ever so slightly, when he was the grip tighten.
Don't like where this is going, he thought to Rachel. No... overt threats, but even within his mechanical limits, I don't think he much likes us here.

She remained pleasantly quiet. Rachel was subtly figuring out a telekinetic shield to put around Bobbi and keep her powers from going off on the street.

She reached up to her shoulder when he let her go. "You sure Dad?"
"This will be better for you in the long run."

Bobbi nodded as she smiled a little. She did step closer to Rachel though, getting the feeling it would ease the red head a little.

"Sounds like a plan," he agreed.
no subject
Or at least done in the speed of thought.
no subject
"That'll help, I usually take too long to pack. At least mom and dad say."
no subject
Especially not since Rachel could keep a telepathic eye on Bobbi.

"You'll be gone awhile. Do you have enough suitcases and boxes to take what you'll need?"
no subject
"Then I should. Though... I don't think I need to take everything I have. Do we get our own rooms? Or do we share? And no one will complain about stuffed animals will they?" Guess if I have to I can hide Frosty under my blanket when I'm not in the room. The image of a purple penguin came to mind at the thought. She really was just a kid.
no subject
"So, if you want to bring your purple penguin as company, that's perfectly fine." The redhead was trying to ease into showing her own powers. The telekinesis would probably be more interesting with the packing, however.

Alice was cleaning up from breakfast. "Oh, Sweetie you're back already. Thought you were going to go with your father."
She shook her head. "He said he had it. Are the suitcases still in the attic?"
"I'll get them for you."
no subject
"I have an exercise for you, Bobbi. Think of the things you'll want to take with you and where they're located."
no subject
The stuffed animal on the bed came first to mind. As well as her favorite boots which were in her closet. Other items came to mind, a few books, and other articles of clothing.

Yes the girl was impressed. "Think I'll be able to do that at some point?"
no subject
"Your powers are different from mine. I can read minds and move objects with my mind. We'll teach you how to defend from the former at school. The latter is harder to avoid. Your powers have more to do with ice than telekinesis."
no subject
"Well ice and flight... Kinda. Though I've never actually been able to get into the air more than eight feet. Scared to try here. Daddy says it's not safe for me to show people I have them."
no subject
"We have facilities and a large grounds to accommodate flight lessons. We'll let you test what you can do." She would not grudging admit that the girl's robo-father was probably correct about the danger of showing off her wings.
