Another New Kid (Open to all X'ers)
There was Richard, Topher, Brianna, Kayla, Rose, Bobbi, and himself. Well, that he met so far. The school was starting to fill up with new students, meaning it was only a matter of time before school started up. Not just that, but soon official room mates would be assigned, classes would be sorted out. It was going to be hectic.
For now, Dolemeck was hanging out with Richard on the front lawn of the mansion. The two were reading a book together... when a pick-up truck drove up on the grounds. That must be the new kid he overheard the teachers talking about. He looked over to Richard with a raised eyebrow, before watching as their new classmate got out of his truck.

"Suppose we should go over and offer to help out," he asked.

But no, this was the right place. And all the money the huge facility seemed to imply...it made Brody itch. From the drive up, he was pretty sure you could fit the entirety of his old neighborhood in this places' yard. Was he sure he was in the right place? Were they sure they'd sent him the right letter?
Brody was too lost in trying to figure out how big of a joke the world was playing on him to notice that he was being noticed...

"Greetings! Are you the newest student to our humble school?" Dolemeck let one hand go of one of the wheels to his chair and gave Brody a wave. It was obvious he was not from the US, just by the way he spoke. "My name is Dolemeck."
no subject
"And I'm Richard," he said shortly after his friend. He too extended his hand for the new student to shake. "Do you need any help with your bags? I am an expert mover of just about anything."
no subject
"Pleasure ta meet ya'll. Honestly, I think I'm in the wrong place." Brody got out the instructions and address he'd been following, "I'm supposed to be at some work exchange program, state-thing, called Xavier's..."

His bright green eyes went wide, seeing a bag that was nearly as tall as he was in his wheel chair. Closing his eyes, he focused, trying to lift it up, off the ground. He managed to lift the bag a few inches, before it slammed back down, and he was left all sweaty and gasping for air.
"Bloody... there is no way I can lift that with me mind. Wot is in there, a dead body!?" He was trying his best to be funny to ease up tensions.
no subject
Keeping the majority of his focus on the cloud, he was going to attempt to keep involved in the conversation. "So where are you from Brody?"
no subject
"Whoah, the hell-!? I'm from where things don't just float or get vaporized! Where'd my stuff go? What just happened!?"
no subject
He continued to try and be the calm one.
"I can lift things with me mind. But Richard is right, if I try and move your things in a physical form like that, I will only get me-self hurt, again... and end up in the infirmary, again."
no subject
Taking a second to debate whether or not to turn it back into mist, Richard decided to give the guy a moment to process. "Now you are more than welcome to carry it yourself, or I can just make it float along with us. Either way, we should probably figure out which room you are staying in."
no subject
Brody got to his feet, still eyes the two warily, "...sorry. Bout freakin out. I didn't think ya'll would be, well...like me. And I got mah own bag." Brody hefted up the large rucksack onto his back like it weighed nothing, "Liftin heavy shit is kinda my, uh, thing I guess..."
no subject
When Brody spoke about Richard and himself, Dolemeck raised an eyebrow.
"Umm... you do know this is a school for mutants, aye? We all have special "gifts" as they like to call them." He offered a bit of a nervous smile, wheeling himself to try and catch up to Richard and Brody.

He knew that he wasn't ready to see a girl ice slide through the hallway, but he had gotten over it pretty quickly.
"As far as him rooming with you, I think we had better see what the faculty say on the subject." For all he knew, there were still empty rooms to be filled before they started doubling up.

"We live here, and we have regular classes... like a typical school. The only difference is we have classes about our powers. We learn how we can control them, and how to use them to benefit society. But in truth, what we choose to do after we graduate is up to us."
no subject
"For me, I am planning on making a go at being a superhero and joining up whichever team will have me." Or he would make his own team and go his own way with things. Richard was definitely adaptable in that aspect.
no subject
"Superheroes."
There was another beat.
"As in, the people on the news, blowing up robots, fighting dinosaurs, wearing the outfits...superheroes? Like those people?"
Brody wasn't sure if he was an idiot or they were crazy (both could be true, he guessed), but he had to make sure he understood them correctly.

He then tried to return to being chipper.
"Well now! Enough of that! The school offers many options, including help with college or even becoming a teacher here, one day!"
no subject
"All that they ask is that you put up with the rigorous schedule and a few rambunctious teenagers." At least, that was how one professor put it when he had gone on a rant about it.
"So are you just super strong or is there more to it than that," asked Richard with a curious expression on his face. If there was one thing that he was fascinated by, it was other people's powers.
no subject
When Richard spoke up, he shrugged "Can lift heavy things, haven't been sick since I was like thirteen, got, uh, shot kinda and that didn't hurt..." Brody glossed over that last one, "Then there's the, uh, other thing..."
no subject
"You need to relax. We are all a little strange here." He looked back at them. "We have students with wings, students who can absorb dark emotions, Rose... who is sort of in a category of her own... we'll just go with "she's awesome, but do not piss her off"."

“Now, where do you think the staff member over housing would be at right now? Cafeteria or sleeping in their office?”
no subject
no subject
When asked where they could find a staff member of housing, Dolemeck drew a blank.
"Perhaps we should bring him to Headmistress Ramsey's office, first? No doubt she will give him the whole welcome speech. And then have us bring him to his new room... which I hope is mine. I hate not having a roommate!"
no subject
As far as Headmistress Ramsey went, Richard should have definitely remembered that one, but things were slipping his mind at the moment.
"Alright, then we are off to see the headmistress, who Dolemeck can politely and sanely ask if you can be his roommate?"
