Another New Kid (Open to all X'ers)
There was Richard, Topher, Brianna, Kayla, Rose, Bobbi, and himself. Well, that he met so far. The school was starting to fill up with new students, meaning it was only a matter of time before school started up. Not just that, but soon official room mates would be assigned, classes would be sorted out. It was going to be hectic.
For now, Dolemeck was hanging out with Richard on the front lawn of the mansion. The two were reading a book together... when a pick-up truck drove up on the grounds. That must be the new kid he overheard the teachers talking about. He looked over to Richard with a raised eyebrow, before watching as their new classmate got out of his truck.

He then tried to return to being chipper.
"Well now! Enough of that! The school offers many options, including help with college or even becoming a teacher here, one day!"

"All that they ask is that you put up with the rigorous schedule and a few rambunctious teenagers." At least, that was how one professor put it when he had gone on a rant about it.
"So are you just super strong or is there more to it than that," asked Richard with a curious expression on his face. If there was one thing that he was fascinated by, it was other people's powers.

When Richard spoke up, he shrugged "Can lift heavy things, haven't been sick since I was like thirteen, got, uh, shot kinda and that didn't hurt..." Brody glossed over that last one, "Then there's the, uh, other thing..."
no subject
"You need to relax. We are all a little strange here." He looked back at them. "We have students with wings, students who can absorb dark emotions, Rose... who is sort of in a category of her own... we'll just go with "she's awesome, but do not piss her off"."

“Now, where do you think the staff member over housing would be at right now? Cafeteria or sleeping in their office?”

When asked where they could find a staff member of housing, Dolemeck drew a blank.
"Perhaps we should bring him to Headmistress Ramsey's office, first? No doubt she will give him the whole welcome speech. And then have us bring him to his new room... which I hope is mine. I hate not having a roommate!"
no subject
As far as Headmistress Ramsey went, Richard should have definitely remembered that one, but things were slipping his mind at the moment.
"Alright, then we are off to see the headmistress, who Dolemeck can politely and sanely ask if you can be his roommate?"

He was probably going to be sorry he asked that. He continued to follow Brody and Richard towards Headmistress Ramsey's office.

"Second, I am not going to dive into the past as it would embarrass us both, and neither of us wants that, do we?" He also didn't mention that they would probably get in trouble for squabbling like school kids in front of a new student when they got to the Headmistress anyway.

"Alright, guessin this is the headmistress office, yeah?" He looked at the guys who'd brought him here, and nodded. They seemed cool, but...well, he had a lot of questions.
"So, uh...should I knock...?"

"Come in, Mr. Lees," Rachel beckoned with her back to the door. She was floating a foot off the floor to manually put a book away on one of her floor to ceiling shelves.
"I'll be with you in a second." She tapped the spines of a couple books before she found the one she was looking for.

His gaze might have been lingering on the floating woman, rather appreciatively.
He offered a polite nod to the students, gesturing to the other empty chair.
"Have a seat," he said.
no subject
Waving at the floating woman as he passed (how else does one interact with floating people? Was floating a coon thing here? Brody hoped waving was polite...), Brody sat his enormous rucksack down next to one of the chairs and offered his hand to Doug, as the floating lady seemed to already know who he was.
"Broderick. Uh, Brody. Lees. Pleasure to meet you."

She turned to face her newest student. The redhead looked to be in her late twenties, and physically she was. The intellect behind her green eyes was far older. She was dressed far less conservatively as one might imagine for a headmaster of a private school.
"Welcome to the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning."

"Yeah, I, uh...there may have been mistake. My counsel had said I was going to be part of some, uh program or something but, uh, I ain't really too good at regular learnin, let alone the higher kind..."
no subject
"We're a school for mutants. We're here to help you."
no subject
no subject
"Alright. Uh, Mutant School. Rad. Okay...so...help how...? Sorry, but I uh, kinda was expectin...well, I guess I wasn't sure what I was expectin..."
no subject
"Well, first and foremost, we'll get you regular schooling in the required subjects. It will help you achieve a high school diploma; a requirement of you being assigned here instead of jail. On top of that, we work with individual students on their powers, being able to defend themselves without putting innocents or teammates in danger, and various other things needed to survive in the much more wide open world of mutants. From training the next generation of heroes to those who just want to live quiet, peaceful lives, we have a full compliment of coursework and extra curricular activities."
no subject
"Okay, so, uh...school-school and, like, superpower school...rad, alright, uh...I guess I'm in." Considering the alternative, Brody couldn't refuse. But even without that...maybe this school sucked less than, well, all other schools...
