new student jitters

Bobbi was hugging her stuffed penguin to her as they pulled up to the school.  The young teen had spent most the time they were travelling from the airport looking out the window.  She was fairly sure if she had to she could get herself back to the airport if things didn’t work out like the two teachers had said they would.

Though now standing in front of the school one arm around the stuffed animal, the other holding one of her suitcases she was slightly nervous, biting her lip she shifted the toy to the same hand as her bag reaching for the nearest hand.

“They’ll really be okay with me?”

She waved bye to Rachel and followed Sage into the office.

"I'll warn you now, I'm horrible at written tests. Hands on is more fun for me and the lessons stick better." She hugged the stuffed Penguin a little tighter, only because she was nervous. "But willing to give it a shot. Came all this way it wouldn't do to quit without trying right?"

"Good attitude." Not trying got on Sage's nerves much more than honest mistakes ever did. She picked up a file of papers from her desk and handed them to Bobbi, rolling a small table over for her to work on. "Take your time with them and ask any questions you need. These aren't tests for you to pass or fail. They're simply to tell us what you already know so we don't try to teach it to you all over again."

Doug understood that wink well, and gave one of his own in return.

"And I need to go and have a talk with Dr. McCoy," he added. "I'll pick you up after the tests are done, okay, Bobbi?"

She flipped through the folder as she took her seat.

"Okay, I'll try not to take too long." Though she knew the better she did with the test the better they would know about what she's learned. Starting at the first section she read it over carefully before even starting to write.
