Stealing M.I.T.

M.I.T....

Top scientists at MIT had been researching new technologies, including the development of software which could handle pan-dimensional level calculations.  The projected applications had been hailed as revolutionary by the likes of Tony Stark and Reed Richards...

Which made it the perfect target for the continuing crimes of the Lethal Legion.   Sabertooth, the Owl, the Radioactive Man, and Mentallo had been sent to retrieve it.

The attack quickly made the news.

Fortunately, the local super-heroes, the New Mutants, were not far away in New Jersey...

Clearly the burning wasn't working well enough, and he was moving towards her fast. She could either move out of the way or push him out of the way with something solid, burning and extraordinarily painful. Her whip immediately dropped and she formed a spiked hammer out of pyroplasm with a formidably long haft. When he was within range, and it didn't take long, she swung it low against the ground where he was.

She concentrated, trying to make it as solid as possible. When it finally swung against him, it would've been hot enough to melt metal with a touch, but solid as metal itself, swung by a girl with superhuman physical strength, a huge adrenaline rush and just a tiny touch of desperation.

The burning wasn't working well enough if he just kept coming.

It was fortunate for her that her reflexes were fast- an ordinary person would've been absolutely cooked. She poured almost everything she had left into a singular wave of pyroplasm, one bigger than she'd used before, straight at him. At the range he was at, there was almost no way he'd be able to avoid it.

Even as she fired the pyroplasmic wave at him, she began stamping the ground as hard and fast as she could, to build her reserves back up.

If he had a healing factor ... he could probably survive another one without difficulty, yes? Stephanie blasted him again with pyroplasm, this time more solid than specifically burning, though that was extremely relative. Pyroplasm was always hot.

Stephanie needed to turn her mind, she realized, to his actual apprehension. Or incapacitation. Neither of which was an easy task given his healing abilities. Though from what she could tell, they must have been severely taxed at the moment.

Stephanie wasn't intending to give him a break. She knew that the moment she did, he'd heal up rather quickly. She needed to keep on him, hard. So she did just that. She went with the pyroplasmic hammer again, hitting him as many times as she could with it before it fizzled out and she had to go with something less draining.

She realized with some dismay that she wasn't really sure how to end this with confidence that she wouldn't kill him. She knew he was a real threat as long as he was conscious- she couldn't really stop attacking him. But at some point, she was going to start doing damage he couldn't heal permanently.

Right?
