"It seems a bit unfair," Adrienne said, "but I suppose that is the hand we are dealt."

She shrugged. "Still, I would have liked to match skills with some super-person eventually."

"You know it's that same desire that pretty much destroyed our fathers' ability to get real work," Millicent stated.

Adrienne laughed. "Oh, put I could have such fun with some would-be Captain," she said. "I could fight him, or try to seduce him, or perhaps both?"

She held up a hand in anticipation of Millicent's glare. "I am joking, of course."

Millicent raised an eyebrow.

"I know you well enough to know when you're only half-kidding."

Adrienne laughed again. "Guilty as charged, I suppose."

[weapons_mistress]

"Well it's not as if you've ever caused us any longterm harm," she conceded.

[ze_leaper]

"I am a professional, after all."

[weapons_mistress]

"Plus, I will admit those spandex uniforms are very..flattering."

[ze_leaper]

"Oh, they most definitely are..."

"Anyway," Millicent says, trying to get off that train of thought. "Anything on your end?"

She frowned. "The potential client turned out to be HYDRA. Good money, but I will not work for Nazis."

[weapons_mistress]

"Frankly at this point I'm not sure HYDRA can still claim to be a Nazi group, but I understand your point."

[ze_leaper]

"Founded by a Nazi, Nazis they remain."

The French had long memories.

"The second meeting of the day was more promising, though. An AIM splinter group."

"I'm assuming it's not those fanatics from RAID?"

[ze_leaper]

"Definitely not," she confirmed. "Mechanically Advanced Dynamic Engineering."

Adrienne shrugged. "They want us to steal an experimental power cell that is being developed by a scientist at Empire State University."

Millicent just stood there quietly for a moment before responding.

"MADE?"

[ze_leaper]

"A stupid name, yes," she agreed. "But a stupid name offering a substantial paycheck."

[weapons_mistress]

"Okay, so what are they on about? How are they different from AIM? We need to know these things."

[ze_leaper]

"Nothing terribly insidious. With AIM proper having returned to its more global conquering roots, they seek nothing more than to make money supplying other organizations with advanced technology and weapons. They are considering the funds for our procuring this device a "research and development investment.'"

[weapons_mistress]

"Hmm, that does sound potentially promising. We should do some preliminary surveillance on where the device is held," Millicent suggested.

[ze_leaper]

Adrienne nodded in agreement. "The usual two-stage plan? Passive exterior surveillance, and then the femme fatale, "Oh, I would love to see ze inside?" seduction surveillance?"

Millicent rolled her eyes, but it was more playful than true annoyance.

"You are rather good at it," she conceded.

[ze_leaper]

Adrienne just laughed. "What can I say? Ze accent, ze little pout, zere are few men who can rezist."

"Oh come now," Millicent playfully scoffed. "If any accent tinkles the ear it is a proper English one."

"Oh, but French is ze language of amour."
