Attack on New York (All US teams on deck!)

The Avengers will arrive in Time's Square in short order. They will see Frost Giants moving out quickly. There are a few standing guard over something but there is nice and snow shooting up into the air so it isn't obvious right away that it is the Cask of Winter.

But there are many Frost Giants gathered here. It is an invading army.

Jacob ducked the kick and tried to grab hold of the foot. If he was lucky, he could trip the thing and bring it down.

"I feel as though I need a battlecry," Ryan said as he shot bolts of cosmic energy at the nearest Frost Giant. "Like, it's bolting time! except with less sounding-like-I'm-running-away action."

"Why not 'Not the face!'? It would confuse them," Griffin offered that idea up as he ducks under the giant sized fist aimed his way.

Griffin is not fast enough to see the other hand. He is grabbed and flung far down the Pier.

Jacob has a good hold on one giant. There is some confused wiggling from said giant. Then something amazing happens. Mary hits the giant and he falls over.

Ryan though has an axe thrown at his face.

Remi tears the nostril of that giant open and he bellows in rage as blood pours out from the new wound.

Remi watched his field scientist get flung down the pier. Hoping Griffin has his hamster-ball shields, Remi constructed a U-shaped track for Griffin to roll down and come right back at the giant's face.

"Giant, meet the screaming power of science," Remi said as he continued to float tauntingly in the air.

Mary quickly reverted back to her normal shape, screaming. "GRIFF!"

Ryan threw up a shield of shimmering purple energy. The axe lodged itself into its smooth surface and he reached out, grabbing a hold of it. There, floating in mid-air, he raised the axe to the sky. "By the power of cosmic, I am Stellar!"

And then he rushed the giant that had thrown it at him.

Jacob grunted as he held on to the wiggling foot. Then it fell and he chortled in triumph. That is, until he heard Ryan's battle cries. He groaned as he hoisted himself up and ran along the giant's body to his head for some more punching. "Look, big fellah, I don't mean to be rude, but could you just be unconscious now, please? Before my brother thinks of anything else clever to say?"

"Seriously?!"

He is flying at the face of the giant now.

"That's not even funny!"

The Giant doesn't have time to stop Griffin. He bounces off his face several times before he lashes out again.

Sorry Jacob but you aren't that lucky. Jacob gets kicked at with the Giant's free foot.

Ryan will have the giant try to duck to the right and try to punch him out of the air with a giant fist.

"I tire of this," Remi said blandly. He crossed his arms in front of his chest. They needed to put these giants down as he could spot more in the city.

He helped Griffin use his momentum not in the giant's face. Then Remi encased the giant's head in an invisible, air-tight shield. The Atlantean prince didn't have the power to encase the massive humanoid's whole body.

He just hoped these giants didn't breathe out of some different orifice. Also, he hoped his shield was strong enough.

Mary transformed again, into a mammoth once more, using ramming power to try and topple another.

"Whoa--" Jacob didn't have much time to be surprised by the kick. He went flying, smacking into the nearest building and through a wall or two.

When he got up, he was laughing. "I almost felt that!"

He pulled himself out of the debris and headed back to try and grab for the foot again.

One of the wonderful things about Ryan is that when he's in the thick of the moment, he's a quick thinker. Not so much when he's lazing about, preening in the mirror, but when he's fighting...well, quips aside, he could be worse.

He dove to the left as the giant bypassed his first attack and whirled out, slashing at the giant's hand with his newly found axe.

Griffin manages to aim himself at the giant's gut. He is trying so hard to not laugh because honestly? This is kind of fun.

Under Remi and Griffin's attacks they fell this giant together.

Mary startles a Frost Giant who first trips then is knocked right over.

Jacob succeeds in grabbing the Frost giant again.

And Ryan hurts the one Jacob is trying to fight.

Remi quirked an eyebrow and dissolved the shield surrounding the downed giant's head. Royal attitude did it. He needed to remember that.

He flew at one of the downed but not unconscious giants. He pushed with his flight powers to give the giant a flight-assisted whole-body uppercut.

Mary shifted forms, becoming a dragon the size of a station wagon. She lifted into the air and sprayed flames around the giants.

Now that his giant was unconscious, Jacob turned to help with the newly felled ones on the ground. Since they were on the ground now, he had a good angle to punch them in the head. Just what he always wanted!

Ryan, meanwhile, starts blasting at them with bolts of cosmic radiation. Pretty, sparkling, lethal bolts.

"Well this is going well," he grins popping his knuckles.

"Who wants some?"

What hurts ice? Fire.

The Frost Giants start to go up fast under the assault from Mary. They are hurting from Mary so Jacob knocks one out cold and Ryan finishes the job. Looks like they did good.

Remi hovered in the air. He nodded to himself. Though since he was slightly away from the rest of the group, he used his communicator rather than shouting at them.

"Make sure the ones we have down stay down. Then we press forward." He decided to do some quick aerial scouting as his team laid giants low left and right.

"Aye, aye, mon capitan."

"Does anyone know anything about the physiology of these things?" Ryan asked as he landed besides one. "Fiery torch through the heart, beheading. Will these things keep the frost giants down and out of the count or what?" Not that there were any fiery torches around, but he could very well use his energy to maybe try to behead them?
