The test results weren't changing. The little parasitical organism growing inside Alexa wasn't going away. The hormones were getting worse, as evidenced by Alexa's keen strategy of kicking Remi in the nuts to rescue him from a really bad situation. She had also noticed a slight...bump going on where her stomach was and guessing by Remi's near inability to look up from her chest these days she was pretty sure that her stomach wasn't the only thing that had swollen.

There was no denying it now. Alexa was with Atlantean spawn. Do they make booties for wingy feet?

"Remi?" she peeked in at him. He'd been having a lot of Tank Time since the whole ball-kicking incident.

Remi put on a congenial smile. "Good choice, gorgeous."

He gestured for them to start toward the door. "Starks before Atlanteans."

"How generous of you," he answered Alexa with a wry smile. It didn't bother him much, really. If she'd been running around blowing his money like, well like he had at her age, then he'd be less amused. She was a good kid, though. Shocking, considering half her genes came from him.

He flashed Remi a slight smile and headed for the door with Alexa. "Italian, huh? What's their specialty?"

"I've never paid much mind to their specialty. Remi usually orders something that looks great and then I get that but today I'm going to murder some carbs. I could eat a boat of noodles."

"Their Bisteca Alla Griglia is pretty good," he recommended. "Most of their pasta dishes are pretty good. I've had everything there, nothing bad on the menu."

Considering he usually ate 2-3 entrees when he was there, he had sampled just about everything on the lunch menu.

Tony glanced back at Remi, vaguely impressed. Everything on the menu was an accomplishment. He usually just found a thing he liked and stuck with it. "Bisteca Alla Griglia. I'll keep that in mind, thanks."

"I might have to order two things. Potentially three. I'm starving. Remi, I blame you." She got them to the restaurant and then inside. It wasn't too crowded, but of course with Remi in tow they got a fantastic, mostly private table. And obligatory swooning over Remi.

Remi could have tried to cover that, but really, he couldn't run away from. He shrugged. "You can blame me; it is my fault to a degree."

The Atlantean prince gave the staff a smile as he seated himself beside Alexa. He gave the waitress a wink, which she had to go into the kitchen to settle down from. It would give them a few minutes to go over the menus.

"You weren't kidding about the carbs, I see?" There was an undercurrent to the conversation that was starting to make him uneasy, but it was too late to back out now. Instead, he took his seat at the table and reached for the menu he was given.

Alexa gave a cursory look at the menu. Anything that was covered in cheese and was also noodley was going to be a winner. She was also going to throw down on the bread. She had plans. But Alexa could see that Tony was starting to get that "something weird is going on" look in his eyes and she figured now was as good a time as any.

"No, not kidding about the carbs." A pause. "Dad, I need to talk to you about something."

Remi glanced at Alexa and then at the menu. He set the menu down and prepared for Han Solo to shoot first. Or so all those t-shirts told him.

There was that other shoe he was waiting to drop. Tony folded his menu and looked over at Alexa. "Thought that might be the case. What's up?"

"Um." She looked at Remi, then at her dad, then at her menu.

"I'm harboring an Atlantean."

Somehow, he just didn't think she was talking about sneaking an illegal alien into the city. He glanced down at her belly, struck speechless for a moment. He'd considered the possibility that this might have been one of the possible subjects for this meeting, but...

He looked over at Remi and then back to his daughter. "Alright. What do you two plan to do about it?"

"Well, general consensus is that we plan to have the baby. Remi has suggested a water birth and it's not a half bad idea."

It was a good thing Remi's shields were invisible; no one knew they were there. Though he slowly lowered them. He thought he might need to put them up when they weren't witnesses later, however.

Oh God, he did not want to know anything about the birthing process. At all. Ever. He closed his eyes a second and reopened them, giving a calm nod. Calm now, killing later.

"Does your mother know?"

"Not yet. And she's probably going to kill me."

"She's good at that." It was one of her many attractive features. Bethany made Tony look like a pussycat. "Don't worry. I'm sure she'll find a way to blame me once she really thinks about it.

He turned to Remi and nodded a bit. "I suppose congratulations are in order?"

Remi smiled a bit. He was going to live a little dangerously. But this whole not being fried right away might have been making him a little cocky.

"I'd think so, if you're ready to be a grandfather."

"I happen to think you'd be a good grandfather, Dad. Someone new to teach bad things to!"

"You two are hilarious." He reached for his water glass, half wishing it was something stronger. Alexa was too old for him to have any say in her life and he wasn't entirely sure he was qualified, anyway. She'd only turned out as well as she had because he'd had so little to do with raising her.

He put his water down and turned to smile wryly at Remi. "Congratulations. Remember that I don't have to be anywhere near you to kill you if something happens to my daughter."

Remi quirked an eyebrow. "Why would you assume I would do anything worth killing for to Alexa?"

He made sure to stop himself there. He didn't know this Tony Stark that well, but he'd heard stories. Though he would have been disappointed with this whole encounter if some threat weren't leveled at the Atlantean.

"There will be no killing of anyone here. I don't want my child to be a half-orphan." Alexa shot her father a look.

"I said 'if'. As long as there are no problems, then nobody has anything to worry about." Tony smiled serenely at her. She was his only daughter. God willing, she'd be the only one he ever had. He was a little protective.

"Well, if anything happens, Alexa is more likely the bigger threat to my life than you." Which after he said was not all that comforting. He frowned slightly and went back to looking at what three entrees he wanted.
