The Blackbird was about fifteen minutes out from Cape Citadel. Supposedly, Topher's boyfriend was going to meet the rest of them there.

Rose, meanwhile, was working up a fight plan in her head. It mostly involved slicing.

"So... we got a nutjub who thinks she's the second comin' of Magneto, somebody encoachin' on Little Miss Hellfire's trademarks, and a bunch of other flamin' nuts. What's the game plan, Summers?"

Her shield was holding, at least for the moment. Magneta slowly got back to her feet, bringing her gauntlet up near her face. She tapped a stud there with her other hand. "Full evacuation. Now."

A moment later, she and the downed members of the Sisterhood began to sparkle with light as they began to vanish. "Know that when we meet again, X-Men, we shall be enemies. It did not have to be this way."

And they were gone.

"Well," Rose said, "somebody's gotta pretty high opinion of herself."

She looked around, and saw that the military was organizing again, now the the barrier and super-villains were gone.

"I'm thinkin' this is about ta get ugly."

Topher was seething as he stared at the spot where Magneta had been. They got away. They freaking got away.

They were right there, so close to being apprehended, and they got away.

He scowled and turned back to look in the direction that Rose was.

"We should retreat. Maybe have Rachel issue a statement of some sort or something. But being here now can't possibly end well for us."

The red hot turtle had been staggered away from the shield when a catgirl had decided to use him for a stepping stone. He left scorch marks as he got steady on his feet.

Athos ignored where Magneta had been and scowled at Chris. Not that anything but a narrowing of his eyes showed beyond his red half-mask.

"I think we should all be making a statement." Chris says, pointing at where Magneta was. "We friggin' saved the day and sent her running scared. It's about time people started knowing we're the good guys."

She gives a slight nod to Athos as she catches the look.

"You wanna stay, you have good luck with that, Kit-Cat," Rose said. "Me, I'm not exactly comfortable with guys pointin' guns at me."

She looked over at Topher. "Whatta we do, Summers?"
