alisa_lebeau_v3: (Angry Alisa)

On the Run (Open to SHIELD and other heroes in the city)

Alisa was not surprised that her picture was leaked to the media. Not surprised there was now a manhunt out for her. And totally not surprised that her job at the MET distanced themselves from her, and promptly fired her. Good. She hated her job, she hated all of it, she hated everything and everyone now.

Thankfully, no one linked her to Alistaire Shaw (publicly at least), and she left Steve Coulson with enough evidence to arrest her. If anyone was going to do that, it would be him. For now, she stuck to alleyways and the rooftops. She could feel the anger coming from the city... The police were mad she had taken out four officers, people were mad a mutant freak was running about, and she... loved it.

It was almost like a dance with how she moved. Swift, graceful, and damn near unstoppable. Why did she not just let herself go years ago? Why did she hold on to those useless emotions and desire for love and friendship. Creating utter chaos was just so much more fun!

With the evidence, Steve was able to make some guesses as to what her locations would be. With what he knew of her personality he could guess what drove this whole mess right now. Finally, with what he knew of her powers, he would be able to bring about the most appropriate countermeasures. he wouldn't bring in lethal armaments, although there were those itching to have them used. After all, this was a highly volatile situation and some would prefer expediency over fairness.

Like hell Steve was going to let that happen. He was to play an "auxiliary" part in the take down, but right now he wasn't feeling very auxiliary-like. After all, everything he said was true...but he had left out a handful of variables.

So next came the waiting game. It would be long and uncomfortable (especially if Alisa showed up and not listen to reason) wait, but the other SHIELD agents would be nearby.

Hopefully before Alisa tears him limb from limb.

Simon had been talked into this only through multiple assurances that he wasn't going to be anywhere near anything when the action went down. He didn't do field work unless absolutely necessary, by personal preference and by lack of combat skills.

He was situated at a table at a cafe, with what looked like an iPad in front of him.

What it was really doing was controlling a sophisticated miniature spy-drone, currently up in the air.

He tapped the SHIELD-issued bluetooth device in his ear.

"I have visual."

NYC was the *perfect* place for a sniper with a gun and that's what she had, concealed on a rooftop a half block away with an assault rifle with a scope on it. It was in everyones best interest that Nikki not be *there*. But She'd cover her brother's back, whether he liked it/knew it or not. "Roger that visual, I have eyes on them as well. Did I mention what a bad idea this is?"

"Alisa."

Okay, how does one say anything to someone who they were close to and having a good time with and suddenly they're met with force because of violent attacks on a bouncer and several police officers. Because the NYPD doesn't have the resources to track and confront her without SHIELD help.

"...do you want to explain what happened earlier?"

...yeah, that doesn't help much.

"Bloody hell!" Simon shouted, louder than he should in public. Quickly he thumbed the controls, moving the drone out of the projectile's path. Hastily, he brought it up higher, while increasing camera magnification.

"She's getting feisty...."

Joe had enjoyed the mini-break he'd gotten after failing to bring in Quinn. Spending time with Roxanne was always good. But when the boss-man called saying that agents needed back-up...well, that meant the vacation was over.

Joe grabbed his newly-designed gear and grumbled slightly. Fury wasn't letting him keep the "Agent Nomad" moniker, so Joe now had to go by U.S. Agent as his official codename. He didn't like it but he'd live with it.

He also had to learn to use a shield. Wonderful. What else could go wrong.

He sped across town to the confrontation site, patching into the channel to get a situation report. With any luck, the other Agents were already bagging this up and heading out for coffee.

"U.S. Agent en route to destination. What's the current situation?"

"About 10 seconds from pumping this chick with enough neuro toxins it would take out ten elephants. I dont think a hell of a lot less will put this chick down." And if it killed her...Nikki could live with that.

For all the circling, all the action, even the rock thrown to take out Simons drone, there is little movement from Steve aside from the shuffle to ensure he faces her. It's not a demure or small one, just one that clearly shows that he is facing her.

"Alisa Le Beau, as a feeling and reasoning person do you think that this excuses you from the actions you just made? You caused bodily harm on several people, then ran about the city and then give me a lecture about how it's not your fault. Call yourself a weapon all you want, it doesn't change the fact you made the conscious decision to hurt others."

Steve isn't angry, although his tone is sharp and his words biting. For him, it's not anger. It's disappointment. Not even that long after they started their...whatever the hell you would call it and now here she is on the wrong side of the law.

"Turn yourself in. You've done enough."

"Um... this is escalating rather quickly," Simon said. "I really don't like what I'm seeing on the scanners."

"Do we have any agents engaging the hostile at close range?" Joe asked.

He didn't ask about establishing a perimeter. He assumed he was working with seasoned agents who knew what they were doing.

"Steve Coulson. He's not a field agent. I have a clear shot if we need it."

And any other hostile, she'd take them out...The very fact that her relationship with her brother and his relationship with this chick was making her hesitate was another major reason that this was a bad, bad, bad thing.

Coulson? Like Agent Coulson? He was one of the greats. Dad liked him. This could get messy.

"All right, I'm on en route to the site. Agent, take your shot if the hostile even breathes wrong in his direction. I'll take an injured or dead hostile over or a maimed or dead agent." Joe said.

"What are we seeing on the scanners? Do we have any knowledge of what capabilities this hostile has?"

"I'm picking up spiked metabolic functions, accelerated heart rate... Also some kind of neuro-feedback. I think the signal from my drone may be interfering with something... maybe some sort of neurological bionic implant?"

Simon was speculating. There was still a lot about this woman they didn't know. "Vital signs look similar to a mutant overloading on their powers... but I have no idea if this woman is x-gene positive."
the_next_avenger: (I don't like this)

[personal profile] the_next_avenger 2014-11-30 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
Neurological implant. Possibly a mutant overloading on their powers. Unless this ended with an unconscious mutant and a breathing agent, this was likely to get all the anti-mutant types screaming.

"I need some coordinates on Agent Coulson. Also, is your drone seeing any bystanders or hostages in the area?" Joe asked, putting a plan together in his head.

He hoped this shooter was as good as she said she was.

If he died, Roxie would kill him.

"We know she is hostile. Do we have anything that might dampen mutant abilities? What is our containment plan once she is down?"

He maneuvered his bike toward Coulson and the hostile's location.

Ignore the chatter.

Stay focused on the problem in front of you.

Ignore that they plan to kill her if she even looks close to doing something wrong.

Do the job.

"Miss le Beau, I am willing to help you, but I need you to understand something. You injured several officers. You broke a mans arm. There are concerns beyond simply arresting you. I need your cooperation, and I can see what I can do," Steve said. There was the slightest inflection, one of concern for Alisa.

"Nothing I can deploy from here," Simon told Joe over the comm. "I might be able to incapacitate her if I boost the drone's signal high enough... but i can't guarantee that won't cause long-term neurological damage."

Joe really wished he'd learned to sling a shield right now. Maybe he'd put it on the list if he survived this.

He killed the engine on his bike stepped off, keep his eyes on the hostile and the man he assumed was Agent Coulson.

"Stand by on that." he said, taking stock of the area around them.

"Agent Coulson?" Joe asked, not wanting to wreck whatever Coulson was doing but also prepared to act in defense of his fellow agent.

"Are we ready to bring her in?"

Nikki waited, fingertip on the trigger, cross-hairs focused right over the artery in her neck where the neuro-toxin has a shot at working. "Standing by with a clear shot if you need it. Steve, bring her in or I will."

"Do not act until I say so. I have this under control," Steve said, sternness coloring his voice over the radio.

"Alisa, I do not want to hurt you, but you need to make sure not to act in a way that's seen as threatening. Cooperate with us."

Steve stops for a second, the stern facade falling away for a second.

"Please."

Joe breathed a sigh of relief as the young woman surrendered and was taken into custody. This went a lot better than it could have.

He was grateful for that.
