Uniforms... Huh
Erin turns over a business card in her hand a few times. Her father had been taking her a little more seriously and had been pleased with her last few test scores in school. So this little card with an appointment had come in the mail at school for her.
Apparently he was of the mind she needed a uniform. Not a bad thing really. He was going to foot the bill he just wanted her to go to this one place.
She didn't want to go alone so she decided to ambush the person who knew more about this than she did.
"Hey Bruce."

"Now. All we need is measurements!" She's going to start tormenting Erin now so look out.

"Replacements are part of the cost. Send them in for regular repairs here," Edna instructs. "I will be making three so you don't have to wear the same one all the time." She pauses and grins.
"Do not worry. Your Father opened an account for you with me, Dahlin. I am discreet about these sorts of things."

"Sounds like you've had experience with this kind of thing."

Before Erin can protest she is hurried to her feet by Edna. The short woman starts to take measurements and makes a few comments about girls knowing how to eat right.
"I will have the uniform sent to your school."

"Couldn't you mail it home instead? People are less likely to pry." See that tense smile? It's going to become very common place for Erin.

"Worried the other shoe is gonna drop?"

"In my family? Oh yeah... so long as I keep being clever it shouldn't be too bad," she says with a slight shrug. They're ready to go so she's making her way towards the front door.

"I mean even if I wasn't a mutant I'd be under pressure to succeed anyways."

He nodded. "Mine too. Always expected the best."
no subject
"It's not so bad. I can meet their expectations."
