One mini Icecube with a side order of oops. [open]
Bobbi scowled as she knelt helping one of her friends pick up their books. “Alex you have to be such a jerk?” She handed the books over to the girl he had tripped, who was pushing her glasses up so she could see.
“Bobbi, don’t, you’ll get into trouble if you’re in another fight. It’s alright I’m used to it by now.” She did accept her books though.
“Aw what’s wrong Bobbi, gonna let the geek tell you what to do?”
“Considering she’s been helping me get used to the school, yeah I’ll let her.” She glared at the older student putting an arm around her friend. “Come on, let’s go. We’ll be late for class if we stay here, I can’t afford another tardy.” Their way towards the English room was blocked by his friends. Bobbi glanced around, the other students were forming a ring around them, the chant of fight already starting. The fourteen year old gave a small frown. “Anna stay behind me okay?” She was used to getting bumps and bruises from the soccer field at least. If he was really going to take a swing she preferred it to be her that got hit and not Anna.
Al’s fist hit the locker by her head making her flinch slightly as he grinned. “All that bravado and you’re still shaking aren’t you?” He laughed stepping back.
Bobbi closed her eyes growling a moment, the air around her started to cool down as she pushed him away from her. He yelped, her small hands actually cold enough to burn him even through his shirt. “I’m not scared of you.” Her words were as cold as her hands, making his buddies back up as if scared of the pint sized teen. She stormed past him, the air still cooling. There was the sound of something above the gathered students cracking. Looking up all the sprinklers had icicles forming. The young blond bolted as soon as she was away from everyone, feeling like she needed space.
Once outside in the California sun she bolted across the yard planning on making it home before anything else happened. She wasn't sure what was going on, but had a feeling the cracking noises she had heard were because of her.

She shook her head a moment her thoughts going dark for a brief moment. She had thought to touch both of them and run, but she stayed her ground. No, I didn't hurt the soldiers before I'm not going to hurt teachers now. I'm not a monster.
"That kind of school?" She'd at least try to figure out what was going on, the temperature around her was starting to warm up at least. She was losing the hold on the cold, which meant she'd have one huge case of the munchies later.

"We're a school for mutants," he said. "We can help you learn to control your gifts."
What was she so afraid of? There was an edginess he couldn't properly identify...

She noted the girl's thoughts. "There are others there. Similar to you. Who are scared how their powers effect others."
no subject
"I can't though. Mom and Dad probably wouldn't let me go. They say that the school I go to is special too. But I'm the only one there that's different." Okay maybe Anna too, but Anna was different in other ways, and completely normal.

"We could talk to them," he added. "But it sure looks like you could use our help."
no subject
"We can always sell parents on attending a prestigious private school in upstate New York."
no subject
"And I only ask because I have wings. I wouldn't want anyone going into fits because of me."
no subject
"Trust me," he said, "wings are hardly the most unusual thing around there."

"We've seen a lot, Miss...?"

"We... probably shouldn't approve of that," Doug said. "But sometimes, bullies need to be taken down a peg."
no subject
"Well, Bobbi. How about we talk to your parents and get you transferred to Xavier's as soon as possible?" Before life at school become monumentally worse due to her power display.

What's your take on her? Doug mentally asked Rachel. Anything we should be concerned about? All I'm getting is nervous as hell.
no subject
She was scared and is calming down now. She kept thinking about army men and Cairo. We may have to dig into past a bit when she gets to the school. She's got no mental defenses whatsoever.

Definitely not good signs, he agreed. But we've dealt with worse before.
"Control and endurance will come with time. It's just like building a muscle."

Rachel kept up a placid exterior despite the mental conversation with her husband and her own thoughts on this new mutant. Though she did keep pace with Bobbi, like she knew where she was going. Which she kind of did since it had been on the top of girl's thoughts recently.
"How soon would you like to come to Xavier's? Just so we know how to sell this to your parents."
no subject
She bit her lip a moment. "I'd have to make sure she's not mad at me too. I just ran off."
no subject
After all, you never knew when you might get abducted to Asgard. Or Limbo. Or outer space.

Bobbi nodded. "She's seen a few things I can do, but I might have gone a little too far. That was a bit more than just cooling down our sodas on a hot summer day."
She slowed as they got to the short fence that surrounded the red brick house. Her mother was coming out of the garage with a bag of groceries. "Dear you're home early." She was eying her daughter's companions.

"She is definitely Xavier's material. May we come in and talk to you about our school and the educational programs we can offer to your daughter?"
no subject
Bobbi grabbed the grocery bag. Spared a lecture on skipping class at least. "Okay, this the only bag?"
"Two others on the counter already." When Bobbi left she looked at the pair again. "Come on in. I'm sorry about being cautious, she's our little angel after all."
